 NEIS Christmas Concert

Christmas, translated as "Christian Mass", celebrates the birth of Jesus. It is a traditional western festival, originated from Christianity, on December 25th. Mass is a kind of liturgy of the church. Christmas is a religious festival, because it is celebrated as the birth of Jesus, hence the name "Christmas Day"

Christmas is also an important festival for NEIS, and all the teachers and students of NEIS celebrate together. At the NEIS Christmas concert, a one-week Bake Sale was held. Students made and sold things to collect money, and donated to the people who need help. In the Christmas concert, all the teachers and students and the parents of the students came to participate in the event. Students from preschool to high school participated in it and brought a wonderful music feast. NEIS celebrates Christmas by organizing these two events, fostering students' sense of social responsibility, allowing students to express themselves and exercise their abilities, and the two activities are in line with the school's education philosophy "NON SIBI, NOBLESSE OBLIGE".

On December 14th, NEIS held its Christmas Concert. Unlike past years, the biannual music concert and the Christmas program were combined so that all departments could take part in the Christmas festivities.

Before the show, the PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) helped to decorate the school with a big Christmas tree, beautiful lights, and flowers.

In the concert, preschool to secondary students presented what they had learned in their classes, including ballet dance by preschool students, recorders played by 3rd grade students, elementary choir, and elementary and secondary hand bell choir and ensemble. 2nd grade and 3rd grade students also had their class presentation, and Shekinah, Eric and Matthew from secondary presented solo singing, solo guitar, and solo piano. The Korean Children’s Community Choir was also invited to perform. Most of the songs presented on that day were Christmas songs so the concert was filled with Christmas spirit.

Before the show and during the intermission, there was a bake sale organized by our student volunteer service club “Friends”, the dance team, and the PTO. They were selling different kinds of goodies and drinks. In total, they raised 4,123RMB, and this profit will be used for building a school for Rohyingya refugees in Myanmar and for NEIS operation fees.

We would like to thank all the students, teachers, staff members, and PTO members for their hard work in preparing for this event, and we believe that all guests who attended enjoyed beautiful songs and dances presented by our students. We are looking forward to having another Christmas concert next year.
